The fortifications in brief ...
Discover a remarkable set of forts,designed by Montalembert.Erected between 1817 and 1834, the Esseillon forts includes 5 forts in the communes of Aussois and Avrieux.
These immense buildings are spread over several hundreds of meters of climb. They were used only for the stationing of garrisons and as prisons. They are now Classified as historical monuments. e.g : Site "Pierres Fortes de Savoie".> Learn more :
